One day, while on a walk, the family invited a man who had gotten lost in the garden to join them so they could lead him out. When they reached the park’s exit, the man asked whom the had the honour of thanking – to which the King answered: “I am the King of this country; and this is my son, the Crown Prince (Frederik VIII). This is my other son, the King of Greece (George I and his son, Crown Prince Constantine (Constantine I).
