darthluminescent:(Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth – Karen Miller)This happened in a once upon a time canon novel. And if anyone asks me why Anakin Skywalker is a sub and Obi-Wan Kenobi was his perfect dom (if only he’d kept at it, realized that Anakin needed it full time!), I’m going to print this page out and gently staple it to their sleeve.Anakin starts spiraling out of control, his feelings too much to handle, like “water on the brink of boiling”, even starting to boil over, and Obi-Wan just quietly tells him to knock it off and Anakin listens, Anakin follows what Obi-Wan tells him to do, not even resentfully, but like this helps, like it gives him structure and someone’s guidance to follow and it’s better now that he’s taken down a notch. Also: I KEEP THINKING ABOUT THIS. I keep thinking: Imagine the Anakin Skywalker we could have had if Obi-Wan had realized how much he needed this. Imagine an Anakin Skywalker who didn’t keep everything inside himself, howling and screaming like a tornado of feelings, but instead had Obi-Wan there to put a hand on the back of his neck or even just quietly but firmly say his name, let Anakin know that someone was watching him, someone was paying attention to him, someone would fix him.Imagine the Anakin Skywalker we could have had if they’d settled into a d/s relationship–and I don’t mean that necessarily sexually, but platonically, too. For Anakin to trust Obi-Wan, to put himself in someone else’s hands, someone who loved him and actually did want the best for him. Anakin wouldn’t have had to seek it from Palpatine instead, would have been able to let go and let someone else tell him what to do, how to fix this. Someone to cut through that noise in his head, because he couldn’t do it himself. Someone to follow, someone to obey, someone to listen to, someone to be underneath who had him, who knew what to do.Imagine the Anakin Skywalker we could have had if he hadn’t broken under the pressure of trying to hold himself together during a war that stripped everything from him. He’s still responsible for his own actions and choices, but I know I’m not alone in imagining what could have been if someone had just taken hold of him and made him do the right thing, made him talk about his feelings, made him sit down and be quiet and settled down. (Certainly, I think Obi-Wan would have wondered, during those years on Tatooine. What could possibly have saved that person he loved so much?) -- source link
