Since all three of my girls are coming into the same “canon” story of Rissi, I figure I’d give their backgrounds. This is Kama, niece to the Earth King. As the Earth Princess she’s lived a sheltered life in Ba Sing Se’s palace, but like any young girl that lives a seemingly idealic life, she wonders if there’s something more to life than this. She gets her chance to find out when the Avatar comes to Ba Sing Se, ranting about some kind of “War” that she’s never heard of before. Surely the Avatar can’t be a liar, right? So what’s going on? Sneaking out of the palace to lend a hand to the Gaang while in Ba Sing Se, Kama learns that a war has been going on her entire life just outside the walls of the city, that her people are suffering, and the Avatar must defeat the Fire Lord to end the war before Sozin’s Comet. Kama is determined to help the Avatar in his quest.Inquisitive, curious and determined to make a difference, she’s a great asset to the Gaang as they attempt to convince her uncle of the war and expose the Dai Li, and when it all comes crashing down, Kama escapes Ba Sing Se with the Gaang.She’s an Earthbender, but being royalty she was discouraged from mastering the talent as bending isn’t “ladylike”, still long before she joined the Avatar she would sneak out of the palace to practise her bending. As such, she and Toph have a lot in common and get along quite well. She trains with Toph to better her bending ability. She may or may not develop a crush on Sokka (and she may or may not develop a HUGE crush on Suki as well) which, well, does it work out? Maybe~ maybe not~ When the war is over, Kama returns to Ba Sing Se to take up the mantle of the Earth Queen, taking an active role to foster relations among all the nations and open her city to the world. -- source link
