third-worlding: Handscrawled letter reads: Thanks everyone for the love, the support and your work to get me, Lulu, Claudia, Maria, Adriana, Cefe, Marcos, Luis & Mario back to our homes. We all have so many stories to tell you, stories that will break your heart just like they have broken ours. We’ve met incredibly strong men & women at Eloy. They should not be here; they came escaping violence, crime, and all sorts of horrible things. We’ve seen how some are treated, how the guards yell at them or make fun of them. This is not a fun place to be but we are trying to be strong because we know you’re all waiting for us to come home. We will continue to fight until we can see you all again.- Lizbeth from Eloy Detention Center Mateo.lizbeth@yahoo.com1124050! The #Dream9 have been in detention for over a week. Placed in solitary confinement and refused phone privileges, nine undocumented youth have gone on a hunger strike. They aren’t sitting around waiting to be released or deported, however- over 70 women in the female’s detention camp have joined their hunger strike after being organized by the detained girls. #bringthemhome -- source link
