cathkaesque: mapsontheweb:EU budget givers vs receivers. Not pictured: the contribution of Eastern European and Balkan workers in Germany’s outsourced supply chains to Germany’s economic growth and how only 5% of Greek bailout money ever made it to the Greek treasury, with the rest circulating back to the European banks that owned the debt. Also, while I am certain that the German government/state gives money outside: 1) This money just goes to banks and it always has gone. There’s a reason the poor countries in the Union stay poor. Our taxes also increase by the year.2) The money the “Givers” give are actually more like investments for themselves, since the loan terms are in their favor and borderline debilitating for the “Receivers”. There’s a reason the rich countries in the Union stay rich.3) “Givers” and “Receivers” is so derogatory, as if the “Receivers” haven’t given nearly all their cheap workerforce to the “Givers” at this point because the people never got actual financial help.4) This post is not against the citizens of the “Giver” countries. The scale of discussion is governments and alliances. Greek politicians are not saints either, but they are also not in control most of the time, so that’s not the point. -- source link
