dirtythingsthatturnmeonposts:bound2please4urpleasure:dirtythingsthatturnmeonposts: instructor144:dirty-dude-83: instructor144: I am so sorry that our young people have to live in these times. Our ancestors probably said the same thing after Pearl Harbor The parallel here is more that of Czechoslovakia 1938. Putin means to reconstitute Greater Russia the same way Hitler set about creating Greater Germany. And at the moment he holds all the cards. Economic sanctions? Bitch please. Anyone with even a room temperature IQ knows that economic sanctions only hurt the people, never the mucky mucks running the show. And the West has no Plan B when economic sanctions fail to achieve any results. It’s neither actually. He said in his speech he didn’t like the fact Lenin accepted the independence declarations in 1917 and the many events afterwards leading up to the end of USSR. Finland was one of those countries and I have many friends there. They’ve confirmed the Finnish army has had a lot of rehearsals lately. Could be a coinsidense. Although I honestly doubt it.I’m no pessimist. That said, I can’t help but think of Finland and Estonia to name just two, or Romenia and Poland since they have US interceptor missiles in their territory. I do agree with you @instructor144 that Putin holds all the cards at the moment, and we all know it.Further more, as a European, I can’t stress this enough; we do not want the US army here. We have zero interest, nor gain, in a war ridden and destroyed Europe. There are more than enough recent examples of why having the US interfere is an even worse option. As it is, many European countries already feel the effects - though ‘minor’ at this point. In just 24 hours, gas and electricity prices have gone up another 40% over here. Same for oil, though not as much as of yet. People are already starting to flee Ukraine and are heading to Poland. It will come as no surprise to say we’ll have another refugee crisis on our hands if the situation remains or escalates even more. Never mind the rest. I just don’t understand in our world today. Russia, USA among other countries have the ability to blow up the world and make it unliveable. One starts and buttons pushed all around us. Why invade? 2020 was hell and just 2 years later when we have a chance of rebuilding after a pandemic he is provoking ww3? Yes it is unlikely but really. What is going on in human minds?is it just a dream we all wish for peace on earth? Why is he not on the terrorist top 10 list? Blowing up the world is not an option. The aftermath of a nuclear attack will affect every single one of us. And I honestly doubt Russia is after that. They want to rebuild the Russian empire after all. What they are after, and I’m willing to die on that hill, is the destabilisation and downfall of the European Union.Back in 2015, a refugee crisis erruped in Greece that caused massive division within the EU. ‘All’ Putin has to do is create a new one to cause major, major, problems among all the European states. Now the crisis will be enourmous. And that is why one shouldn’t tolerate dictators. One should act proactively before their move. If NATO accepted Ukraine after the Crimea annexation, now things would’ve been much different. Surely, diplomation with Russia would be dead but it is anyway. However, even Putin would think twice before attacking a NATO member even though I suspect if he attacks an EU/ NATO member it is possible for NATO to just disintegrate with the US politicians saying that they need to secure their mainland. -- source link
