Commission for @thecyborgcowboy!Since costumer was so kind to give me complete freedom on how to draw the two dads, here’s your story.I imagined Jack and Gabriel after Overwatch fall (and perhaps even after many of the major events Blizzard has in store for us in the second game) traveling together with their old wartime bags, just like two soldiers on discharge who decide to take a trip together living the day. And I like to think that Gabe also left Overwatch carrying his bag with him, just like Jack did. This is no happy ending to their narrative arc, or any AU where what made them enemies never happened, no. Think of it more like a truce, an agreement, a deal they make after what happened and decided to fight together again. In the drawing, where the two of them fall asleep one on top of the other while talking about the golden age, perhaps you will notice a series of small details, including the photo of the old soldiers and their S.E.P. dog tags along with … a pair of rings. Jack wears it around his neck and Gabe at his finger. I also allowed myself to bring back one of my personal headcanons on post-fall Gabriel, who now has very long hair. (And that Jack loves to touch them, eheheh!)
