This faience amulet from Gebel Barkal (in Nubia) dates to the 25th Dynasty through the Late Period (c. 700-500 BCE). It consists of four symbols: the most obvious being the ankh, a sign of life. Running the length of the ankh are the was-scepter and djed-pillar, which represent power and stability. Finally, sitting atop the djed-pillar is a man with upraised arms (called heh), the hieroglyph for “millions”. Altogether, this piece wishes life, power, and stability for millions of years upon its owner. -- source link
