Marcelino from Santa Catarina, Mexico has been imprisoned twice. His crime, according to local authorities, was to “believe in Jesus Christ and disregard the beliefs of his community.”Eventually, he was expelled from his community. Sadly, the abuse against Marcelino and his family didn’t end when he left his hometown. He continued to be harassed and threatened almost daily.Open Doors hired a local lawyer to assist Marcelino. After reviewing the case it was decided that the best course of action was to sue Marcelino’s persecutors.Those that he sued agreed to a compromise and ask that he attend a local assemly to seal the agreement. But it was a trick. They imprisoned Marcelino and his pastor for two days during which time they tried to get him to sign a document to drop the case and pay all legal costs.Pray for Marcelino as the court case continues. Ask the Lord to continue to be with him and that he will be reminded that God will fight all his and his family’s battles. -- source link
