remakingmagic:flavoracle:sarpadianempiresvol-viii:vronos:flavoracle:Something must be said. Something must be done. Most of you know that I like to keep my posts positive. I also try to be slow to criticize new cards when they’re spoiled. But… I was just really disappointed when I saw the spoiler for Sphinx of the Final Word. I mean, the art is amazing and the abilities seem cool (honestly I’ve never been very good at judging power levels.) But… but that FLAVOR TEXT… it’s just a total letdown. I mean, it’s a mythic rare. The art is beautiful! The flavor of the abilities is strong and the name is great!! And then there’s the flavor text. It starts off strong, but there’s no punch at the end. It just falls totally flat, you know? If I could ask Sphinx of the Final Word one question right now, I think it would be, “Is that REALLY the best flavor text anyone could come up with?” And his answer would be correct. So help me out, my fellow Vorthoses!! Let’s toss some ideas back and forth and come up with some flavor text truly befitting a creature so cool! What say you?!Intentions can never be snuffed, but he views all else as fair gameI think the Mel offense of making a huge, evasive, untargetable threat that can’t be countered is greater. This card is stupid.“You can’t argue with silence. No matter what you say, it will always speak last.” I feel like that may have some potential. Feel free to tweak or adjust…What about something a little more foreboding?“Silence may soon be the only word left on Zendikar”^^^ THIS is why I love collaborating with you people! The iterative process is way more fun and fruitful when other people are involved. -- source link
