lilyandbabooshka: Heritage Tweed Hustle Lately, I’ve been very inspired by contrasting Seventies style icons -Bowie & Barbra. The result is layers of glitter knits, chunky sweaters, turtlenecks, Lamé, the occasional spandex Balenciaga-esque leggings, knits, a-line skirts, head scarves. But after seeing all the rad menswear-inflected pieces styled in gorgeous editorial after editorial I found myself gravitating to a new ‘70s sartorial ying-yang- Savile Rowe by way of Studio 54. Ali Macgraw is the éminence blanche of all ‘70s prep but Diane Keaton and Jane birkin also loved a borrowed-from-the-boys look. I am a huge vintage fan- most of my wardrobe is vintage- so when I spotted an impeccably tailored tweed jacket in the I Want To Be Her vintage collection in a beautiful shade of mauve I totally fell in love. I styled the jacket with a purple Opening Ceremony glitter knit, a vintage American Apparel beret, a vintage gold circle pendant and a camera-bag that kinda has this Steve Mcqueen vibe from & Other Stories. I felt good in the look like a groovy Harvard graduate with lavender leanings- a vintage Love Story indeed. -- source link
