sovietpostcards:Although a little late — Happy Victory Day!I was in St Petersburg on May 9 to witness the Victory Day Parade. It’s always a tremendously emotional day for me, I get overwhelmed with joy and sadness at the same time as I watch those grandfathers and grandmothers with chests full of medals and hands full of flowers. They get fewer by the year. The history slips away from us. If your grandparents are alive, ask them of everything, of wars and loves, and write it down. My own grandfather, also a veteran of that war, is not here to see this day. He’s not here to answer my questions. Rest in peace grandpa. You are always in my heart.(Postcard by A.
