Glamour ShotsRobert Jakob and Markus Klein began collecting in 1997 and decided to start pairing some striking combinations of stones, ores and minerals together with insects and creatures. Displaying them side by side categorized by like patterns, textures and colors with approximately 150 different couples.Several thousand visitors and tourists traveled to Germany to see the first exhibit “Flying Jewels” in 2011. One display holds a piece of red coral from the Indian Ocean paired along with a red African Nymphalidae butterfly. Another showcases a green broadbill from Indonesia and a rough emerald.Since then, the two avid collectors have expanded and identified more suited pairs. In 2015, they held a second exhibit at the Castle Freudenstein Terra Mineralia Museum in Freiberg, Germany showcasing more diversity and color with new insects, birds, lizards and even mussels.–MiImage Credit – http://bit.ly/2kUleB2 http://bit.ly/2lMET7QSource – http://bit.ly/2lpIlAO -- source link
