Braided Channels in the Suguta ValleyThe interweaving channels of the Suguta River flow through the Great Rift Valley in Kenya - but only sometimes. The Suguta River is a seasonal stream which runs through the Suguta Valley during the rainy season. The water flows into Lake Logipi, a shallow rift lake which fills a small portion of the valley; the lake is maintained by saline hot springs during the dry season. The valley is one of the driest places in Kenya, with annual precipitation less than 300 millimeters per year.-CELSources: http://bit.ly/2dC6y3Mhttp://go.nasa.gov/2dRy3tIImage: credit: Martin Trauth (distributed via imaggeo.egu.eu) -- source link
