‘The Nine Ladies of Stanton Moor’ Stone Circle, Derbyshire, 21.2.17. This famous Bronze Age stone circle sits atop a natural cliff on Stanton Moor. There were originally more than nine stones. The title comes from local mythology about nine ladies who were turned to stone for dancing on a religious day. Also pictured is an outlier stone called the King’s Stone (Image 3). -- source link
