Here’s the thing: I think mainstream America in the ‘50s was perfectly fine with the idea of a married couple SHARING THE SAME BED~! No one could ever be so naive to assume that married people sleep in separate beds. Not in even in the ‘50s. I don’t care how prudish or middle-class you were. (And even if he’s Latino, well, yeah, you’d still get it.) But that horrible, hideous Hays code passed over to television too, and made TV execs incredibly paranoid. -- source link
