Sarah Baird Knight, who heads The Scarlet K, writes to invite Bluegrass NYC readers to their gig next Wednesday, August 13 (7PM doors / 8PM show) at SubCulture on Bleecker Street. The Scarlet K is a 12-piece band, based in Brooklyn, with a sound that draws from bluegrass and string bands to Southern gospel shape-note singing, adding wind instruments and brass for a shot of polka & mariachi.
