phantomrose96:You know, maybe one of the biggest issues with the Stanley/Stanford twin theory is that no one in Gravity Falls ever mentions Stanley. It’s a small town. People know each other. You think he’d be mentioned in passing, mused over, “Stanford I miss him too“ kind of sentiments. But I got thinking, if Stanley was investigating the paranormal in Gravity Falls, rooted his existence in the supernatural, and went missing due to the portal, then what if the Society of the Blind Eye just…erased him over time? That guy, Lazy Susan’s friend with all the wacky conspiracies…no, that man who chatted with her over pie about gnomes?…oh no, garden gnomes, and wasn’t that just Stanford Pines? That guy who bought Toby Determined a functioning microphone, that friendly local scientist who gave Toby his first big break in an interview about the dimensional rifts…or was it just Gravity Falls lore? Or were those articles just fanciful dream? That guy who accidentally called Sheriff Blubs to the Mystery Shack for more than a few instances of explosions and fires, the gruff brother and the soft spoken scientist who explained the mishaps away. They shared coffee, shared stories about the mysteries of Gravity Falls—or no, those chats were never about mysteries, and wasn’t it the gruff guy who started those fires? Must have been; Stanford Pines lived alone.Every now and then Susan remembers an inside joke she shared with “Stanford Pines”, and Stan pretends he remembers too. Toby recalls a time when Stan seemed to like him, and he wonders what he’s done wrong since. Blubs can’t shake the feeling that Stan Pines was once a quiet, kind, straight-flying man. And Stanford Pines knows what they’re all thinking, but he also knows there’s no use trying to set the record straight. It’s him alone who remembers. -- source link
