llerret:Instagram: @llerretallureFor this #blackout I’m going to embrace my stripped down authenticity. There is beauty in being able to love yourself without the weave or makeup or fashion. I feel worthy even though my natural beauty doesn’t embody what is the norm. My transness, womanhood, blackness, etc are super vulnerable at this point. But I love it. I love fucking up the boxes. I love embracing my regular. I love celebrating the fact that I’m living even though the world is out to kill me. The fact that I am a proud Trans woman refusing to hide. A woman refusing to explain herself. I always appreciate the love I receive when I post a selfie or group picture with my sisters but it’s a problem when it borders sensationalization/glorification of performance that gears towards cis/white norms rather than just simple respect for folks recolonizing their minds and being themselves no matter what the hell they look like. So this is for those queer Trans black girls that get tired. It’s tiring. It’s a fucking task. I see you, sis. We see you. Nobody is perfect. It’s okay to take it off and chill. It’s okay to love yourself no matter what. No one moment or look will ever invalidate your multiple identities. So cheers to us for being visible in more ways than one. The black Trans woman is gawd. <3 -- source link
