Being plant based doesn’t mean you have to miss out on this summer tradition! Plus soy has some great benifits to health! . Well the research does not suggest soy products increase your risk for breast cancer. In fact many studies show the opposite effect. Some of the conflicting results over the years may actually be because of the studies done on mice versus humans. Or the type of soy consumed (whole, fermented versus processed). As a whole, most dieticians and researchers suggest soy as a healthy and beneficial food. . . Recipe • 1 package of extra firm tofu • 1 cup of your fav BBQ sauce, mosquite works the best! •1 tbsp sesame oil * If your don’t have BBQ sauce just mis some tomato paste, spy sauce, maple syrup, and paprika together. ______ 1. Slice tofu into steaks. Then place onto a shallow dish. Pour on the BBQ sauce and sesame oil and let it sit for 15 minute to an hour. . 2. Fire up the BBQ, to help prevent sticking I recommend brushing on some sesame or avocado oil over the grill right before placing the tofu steaks on. . 3. Cook the steaks for about 5 minutes before flipping. If they stick then wait another minute or so. They should release as they get crispy. Then flip and repeat on the other side. . 4. Once they are cooked you can slice them in half lengthwise (like the photo) or leave them as steaks. Eat with rice and grilled veggies or in a burger bun with grilled veggies and extra BBQ sauce!
