It seems wrong that we go through our entire lives Never mentioning sex to a partner Never suggesting sex Or hinting that it might be of interest Or speaking before after or during Because the idea of speaking of it Is so mortifyingly embarassing That we would rather go through our teens And our twenties Untouched And through our long, loving, marriages Never bringing up the subject Other than to apologise profusely When something messy and clumsy happens unexpectedly After long, long passages of months And maybe a child is conceived Am I right guys? We never embrace or acknowledge or do the sex thing. Not ever in our lives Course I’m right Or am I wrong And did I lose forever, through twisted good manners And a crushing burden of shame that I was born with One of the few golden possibilities of connection and peace and expression that life can offer And I think I might have been good at it… -- source link
