cadencekismet:hellolovelyscientist:can’t hid these in the tags, because this is all true#It is precisely the same thing America says about guns#too bad so sad#some of you are gonna die#healthcare same thing#social security same thing#i’m so disappointed by my country Ok, yes, absolutely. But also as an American, most of us *do* grasp how bad it is. The problem is that we’re all living paycheck to paycheck, so the only thing we can really afford to do about it is wear our masks and back up when we see people coming. All of my coworkers know how awful it is. We just need to be there because we need our jobs. And I don’t work retail - this is a community of college instructors. Most of us have master’s degrees. There are so few jobs in the US right now where people can afford to stay home against employer wishes. I have a friend who has a literal heart condition, who provided documentation to HR and *still* has to go to work. Americans know how wild it is. It’s the government (and the conservatives). -- source link
