If you stop taking the antibiotic as soon as you feel “better”, you will probably get sick again as the bacteria repopulate and the bacteria may gain a resistance to the antibiotic. People do this a lot with psych meds, too. “Oh, it’s been a month and I’m feeling less depressed, guess I don’t need these antidepressants anymore!” (Not to say depression doesn’t get better or that all ppl with it need meds for life. But I can almost guarantee you that you’ll need a bit more time than that. Usually therapy too if you want the optimal result.) -- source link
