caesarsaladinn:kt-nre:My favorite thing about the Frick Museum is that the portraits of Thomas More and Thomas Cromwell are always positioned facing each other. They basically get to glare at each other for all of eternity and I sort of think they’d both be OK with thatIt honestly looks a little bit like Hans Holbein the Younger actually planned for these portraits to be displayed side by side. For one thing, they’re basically making eye contact. And look at the symmetry. Both are holding scrolls of paper. The green on More’s curtains matches the green of Cromwell’s tablecloth, and the yellow of More’s table matches the yellow of Cromwell’s backdrop. These portraits look nice together.Yup, definitely planned from day one. -- source link
