This is Rope, the Hitchcock movie about Leopold and Loeb, two rich gay murderers with a contentious and codependent relationship. They basically killed to one-up each other. The movie is from the 60s and the gay was very heavily implied. Like, the audience knew they were gay by so many coded phrases and looks, but Hitch wasn’t allowed to make it obvious. But the movie is still considered one of the earliest canon gay movies. -- source link
